The Glitch Mob - Drink The Sea [The Remixes Volume 1]

As promised, The Glitch Mob have come through with their newest album, which is a compilation of their remixed tracks, by artists who have donated their time to collaborate on the project. Artists include: King Britt, ESKMO, Beats Antique, EPROM, DJ Vadim, Deru, SPL, Mr. Projectile, Kastle, Nalepa, R/D, Virtual Boy, Machinedrum,Jogger, Skeet Skeet, St. Andrew, Them Jeans, Chris De Luca, Salva, Camo UFOs, Comma, Pawn, Mirko Kosmos, Mindelixir. The project is for a good cause, as the fee for the album is actually a donation for Music for Relief which is a charity aiming to rebuild Haiti. As such, I won't put up any free download links for a while at least. Stream the album and get a free download, and donate for the Vol 1, and get Vol 2 on February 12th along with it as well, all on The Glitch Mob Official Site. 

The Glitch Mob Mix for The Hype Machine

This is a 2010 top songs list - of sorts. It features Nelly Furtado's Turn Off The Lights for one, and I wouldn't necessarily say that these are the top ten songs of 2010, and this is far from the musical style seen on their last mixtape, but what the hell. The mix was made for The Hype Machine, the famous music blog aggregator, using a list of 50 of the most blogged/most loved songs of the year. It's a good mix, including the likes of Kanye West, Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, so you've got a bit of everything. Enjoy.

Most posts on WYLSS are driven by a new release or by an artist profile, but some are just about random tracks that are good for the ears. In comes Some Sound. It's just that simple. 

I found another remix by Justin Boreta, of Glitch Mob fame:

In stark contrast with the usual brand of electro house, progressive house, and other electronic dance music provided on this site, the Glitch Mob still manages to gel in perfectly. Justin Boreta, one third of the Glitch Mob takes on Nosaj Thing, another LA resident, and the result is distinctly Glitch Mob-ish. Check it out, and wait till about a minute and a half in for the beats to really start kicking.

As far as I can tell, this is the first individual remix from a Glitch Mob member, but more are sure to follow. The Glitch Mob has also released Drive It Like You Stole (Mixtape Version) as a free download as a thank you to fans for the support they showed this past year. The track features vocals from  BIRDMAN, DRAKE, COLLIE BUDDZ, THE GAME, JAY-Z, DR. DRE, JIM JONES & BOO. Get the full mixtape for free off the site as well.

This track is truly a work of art. Rarely does a track come along that merits so many repeats on one iTunes. The Glitch Mob is a group of three genii based in California. They are a trio of electronic/synth/dubstep/drum&bass/mash-up/pure gold producers who produced Drive It Like You Stole It. Check the original mix here. King Fantastic, also known as Killer Reece One,  decided to add lyrics to an already outstanding track, and the result is brilliance:

New Glitch Mob !!

I was only introduced to the wonder that is the Glitch Mob fairly recently as I was falling asleep in a lecture. The sound I heard that day brought me straight back to the land of the living. The LA based group are immense, and their music is best characterised as beat-based electronic music fused with hip-hop. They recently announced that their newest mixtape/album will be released on Jan 12 (mark that date down on your calenders) and will be called "The Remixes Volume 1".
