Cosmo Baker- February's Top Ten Mix

Cosmo Baker's got that creative and different style of house that we appreciate at WYLSS. This is the kind of music you can have on in your room, at a party, in your car, whatever. It always works, and I guess that's the brilliance behind it. Here is what the Baker himself had to say:
"Okay here’s my February Top Ten List in full downloadable and jammable form. I know I’m dropping this a little early but whatever, it’s done and I just want to get it out there. And you know, I’m always looking towards the future anyway. So here’s the scoop, here’s 10+ songs that really moved me and made an impact over the past month. I’ve played a lot of these out at gigs, jammed seriously HARD to a bunch of them in the crib or the iPhone, and just basically got it in with these tunes. A cross section of joints, but that’s where I am as a DJ and a music head – I like pretty much everything. So I hope you enjoy this month’s installment. The Glitch Mob Mix for The Hype Machine

This is a 2010 top songs list - of sorts. It features Nelly Furtado's Turn Off The Lights for one, and I wouldn't necessarily say that these are the top ten songs of 2010, and this is far from the musical style seen on their last mixtape, but what the hell. The mix was made for The Hype Machine, the famous music blog aggregator, using a list of 50 of the most blogged/most loved songs of the year. It's a good mix, including the likes of Kanye West, Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, so you've got a bit of everything. Kanye West: The Remixes

Kanye West is an enigma. Whether you love him or hate him, chances are you have an opinion about him. Maybe that's what makes him so successful. There is no doubt that the man is a talented producer. But a rapper? And is his style a marketing scheme or is he a really a trend-setter? I like Kanye. He brings an interesting element to the current hip-hop scene, which can too often be crowded with redundant and uninteresting artists. Although I don't like auto-tune, his incorporation of more and more electronic elements into his music has made it more and more interesting in my point of view.
