Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney

BIG TUNES. House just warms the heart. And so does Katy Perry, but thats a different matter completely. I don't know much about Gaudino except that after the success of Destination Calabria he never hit the same gaudy heights of fame (no pun intended). Watch Out, the much-awaited single that followed was a dissappointing failure, but it seems that whenever he collaborates with Jason Rooney something amazing happens. Thats why I move that he shouldn't try and do anything without him. No homo. Starting with I Love Rock and Roll in 2008, its been a long list of amazing tracks.

Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney - I Love Rock & Roll (Extended Mix)
Alex Gaudino's latest single is called I'm In Love, and features Maxine. Check it out:
As with much of his individual work, its just meh. But enter Jason Rooney into the equation and things change drastically.

First and foremost: Katy Perry - Firework (Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney Club Mix)

Avicii - Malo (Alex Gaudino, Jason Rooney Remix)
Vassy - History (Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney Remix)
Alex Gaudino vs. Nari & Milani feat. Carl - I'm A DJ (Jason Rooney Remix)
Case in Point. Enjoy.

A Tribute to iiO

Remember iiO? It was the house act composed of Marcus Moser and Nadia Ali. Their 2001 single, Rapture, garnered huge acclaim and was remixed by Deep Dish, and eventually featured by Tiesto on his radio show, and the rest is history. It literally is, because the duo released one album, Poetica, and then Nadia Ali departed to pursue her own singing career. Her career never really took off and she remains heavily involved in house music, and has written for and collaborated with Hardwell, Tocadisco, Morgan Page, BT, and more. Anyways, at the moment shes been working on a project called Queen Of Clubs Trilogy: Best of Nadia Ali Remixed. The first two installments, the Ruby and Onyx editions, were released a couple of months ago, and the final Diamond edition is coming out on the 21st of December.
iiO might not be a name you hear a lot lately, but it is a name that has been recorded in the annals of house music history. Rapture is a track that sits proudly alongside such classics like Delirium's Silence, Darude's Sandstorm, and Everything But the Girl's Missing.
These are the tracks I picked out from Queen of Clubs:
Nadia Ali - Fantasy (EDX Remix)

Nadia Ali - Fantasy (Morgan Page Radio Edit)

Nadia Ali - Rapture (Avicii New Generation Extended Mix)

Nadia Ali - Crash & Burn (DJ Shah Magic Island Mix)

Nadia Ali - Crash & Burn (Ned Shepard & Sultan Remix)

Enjoy!

Richard Fraioli

I've gotta admit, I've never heard of Richard Fraioli before this track, but its pretty damn good! Enjoy!
Break Of Day (Richard Fraioli Remix)

Funkagenda

Funkagenda, (apart from having the coolest name ever), is a crazy producer. Funkagenda is signed on to Mark Knight's ToolRoom Knights label, and will be performing at Ministry of Sound  on NYE. Funkagenda's style varies but he never fails to impress. I heard him live playing Sweet Fuck, which is a bootleg of Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams and his WTF tracks and it was insane. Check it out:
Funkagenda vs. Eurythmics - Sweet Fuck

Dirty Vegas is also one the ToolRoom Knights label and his dropped this chiller, which Funkagenda jumped on:
Dirty Vegas - Tonight - Mark Knight & Funkagenda (Radio Edit)

As I said though, his style varies, to more techno-like sounds, and bounces back from progressive to electro.
Funkagenda - Lmaoblade (Original Club Mix)

Whenever he teams up with Mark Knight his sounds become much more chilled and less fist-pump material, but it still makes for a great listen.
Dave Spoon - 88 (Mark Knight and Funkagenda Remix)

Mark Knight feat. Funkagenda - Man With The Red Face (Original Club Mix)

I appreciate house music producers that morph their music with classics. Something about it is so classy that it just deserves recognition. Having said that, so many try and fail and what is in my opinion an acquired skill. Funkagenda does it here and doesn't fail.
The Clash - Rock The Casbah (Funkagenda Remix)

aand my personal favourite:
Dave Seaman & Funkagenda - The Mighty Ming (Original Club Mix)

and if your'e interested: Mark Knight and Funkagenda live on the ToolRoom Knights radio show; this whole set is pure gold. Definitely check the Orgasm Medley in the first couple minutes.

Enjoy.

Trolley Snatcha

I heard Trolley Snatcha for the first time yesterday. His remix of Spaceship by Kano is excellent. His real name is Zack Kemp and he's a 23 year old English dubstep producer who has been making a name for himself in the UK recently. While his music isn't necessarily what I post here on a regular basis, there's no doubt its well produced and worth sharing. Enjoy.
Fly Eyes (Trolley Snatcha Remix)

Trolley Snatcha - We Rock The Forest
