HURTS

Hurts are a Manchester based synthpop duo that recently rocketed to the top of the UK scene. They combine melancholy tones with almost eerie sounding vocals, over a strong electronic base and they do it better than anyone else. Their music almost asks to be remixed and you should take a listen to their sound. 

When you think of a break-up song, you probably think of a Death Cab for Cutie or similarly sounding slow, sad song that echoes that break up mood. This here is a very different take on a break up song, effectively allowing you to either sit there and sulk or get up and dance. Sounds good to me.

New Glitch Mob !!

I was only introduced to the wonder that is the Glitch Mob fairly recently as I was falling asleep in a lecture. The sound I heard that day brought me straight back to the land of the living. The LA based group are immense, and their music is best characterised as beat-based electronic music fused with hip-hop. They recently announced that their newest mixtape/album will be released on Jan 12 (mark that date down on your calenders) and will be called "The Remixes Volume 1".
