Jean Elan

I had never heard of Jean Elan before Klaas remixed 'Where's Your Head At?'.
Jean Elan - Where's Your Head At (Klaas Remix)

The song is undeniably fist-pump material, and received huge airplay. After a bit of research (the man has no wikipedia page!), I found out that Jean Elan is actually a German residing in Berlin. Check out his biography on Facebook here. Jean Elan has been getting bigger and bigger. This year, Ministry of Sound's 'Clubbers' Guide 2010' was remixed by him and he was nominated for a Grammy for Best Remixer for this track:
Röyksopp feat Robyn - The Girl And The Robot (Jean Elan Remix)

He eventually lost out to David Guetta, but said this about it: "just the respect to be nominated with these other great international competitors, proves that I am on the right track with my ideas”. And he certainly is. Most recently he has mixed and compiled the Sensation - Celebrate Life (Germany 2011) 2CD Compilation which you can pre-order off iTunes. Anyways, enough with the chit-chat. Music is here:
Jean Elan - Killer (Jean Elan Mix)

Dabruck and Klein feat. Jean Elan - I've Got My Pride (Hold My Head High) (Original Mix)

Morgan Page Feat. Jan Burton - Ive Had Friends (Jean Elan Extended Remix)

And because Morgan Page is simply awesome, here's a track from a while ago that is pure class: Morgan Page - The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix)

Check out his remix of Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso's Partouze in the last post, and here is Jean Elan's December 2010 60 minute set which you can download:

Throwback Thursday: Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso

Some people just cannot stop producing pure gold. And even if its not recent, it still deserves recognition. I feel that so many blogs are always rushing to put out tracks as soon as they hit the scene, and because there is so much music being thrown at us these days, sometimes we forget tracks that were really great and maybe only a couple of years old. This is a prime example. Steve Angello and Ingrosso produced this one two years ago, and it garnered huge acclaim as they played it live in all their SHM sets. Something about violins just never fails to hit the spot. Here's to many more throwback Thursdays.
